IMIA – Indian Marine Ingredients Association

IMIA (Indian Marine Ingredients Association) originated from the collective efforts of Indian fishmeal producers coming together to establish a unified national body. At IMIA, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration as a cornerstone of success.

What IMIA Stands For

IMIA unites stakeholders from every segment of the fisheries sector — including fishers, feed producers, seafood processors, researchers, fisheries institutes, scientists, and policymakers — onto a single platform. Our primary objective is to address the existing gaps in India's national fisheries policy while championing the significant advantages offered by the fishmeal and marine ingredients industry.

Why IMIA Was Formed

This industry has often faced misconceptions and unwarranted interference from other sectors, and IMIA's aim is to rectify this situation. We are committed to creating a level playing field for all participants, irrespective of their size, within the industry.

Who Can Join IMIA

Beyond our core members, IMIA engages Associate members involved in the buying, trading, and brokering of fishmeal — fostering a more inclusive and comprehensive network across India's marine ingredients value chain.

IMIA Leadership

IMIA is led by its President, Dr. Mohammed Dawood Sait, who guides the association's mission to strengthen India's marine ingredients sector and represent the industry's interests in national policy.
